Indonesian martial arts: pukulan

The word I am interested in is "pukulan", an Indonesian term for a hitting collision, also refering to a martial art form of silat which uses striking, I hypothesize that this word is related to pugme (greek) and pugilism (english) through a common root.

Can anyone please help me in reference to this and possibly other Indonesian terms in use in the martial arts world?
